"ToothPics", a New Service

"ToothPics" is a new photographic portrait service specializing in relaxed, candid, and joyous pictures of the subject rather the carefully posed position in the traditional style of portraits for over 100 years. Capturing the gentle smile with a relaxed facial expression is the objective of "ToothPics". "Toothpics" expressions should elicit a smile by the viewer without a raucous laugh mimicking the subject of the portrait.

Prices begin at $350 which includes the portrait sittings, proofs, and three 20" x 30" images of your choice. Each of the prints will be mounted on 1.5" thick black foam core ready to display without any framing. These are museum quality mounting boards like the ones used by NASA and Disneyworld.

Portraits are best taken at the sujects' homes where they should be most relaxed. This will help relieve the self-consciousness common in many portrait faces.

Here are three examples of the size and depth of the 20 x 30 inch prints. Notice the thickness of the photographs.

This photo is of Billie's Father and Mother. I had taken so many pictures, they had gotten bored and started having a private conversation. I knew when I snapped the picture that it was likely the best of all of the pictures. Relaxed, just a hint of a smile, and close to each other show a loving relationship.

This photo is of Billie, my wife, her four sisters, and her Mother. All had the same joyous thoughts including her Mother. The key here is there is no single comic figure making them laugh. The expression of the comic is frequently "out of sync" with the rest of the group and is often the only expression which keeps the picture from being really coherent expressions.

This photo is of my granddaughter Isabelle, her little brother Colin, and a proud grandfather. These are the golden pictures which will age nicely with time and become more precious as the children see themselves 20 to 30 years later.

Over five years ago, I took a series of photos for my brother, John. He has kept all of these pictures on display in his home. Also, he has kept some of the pictures on his personal webpage ever since.

The John Letcher Family

So, start collecting photos, which may seem rather ordinary and troublesome at the present, but will be a pleasant surprise again and again as time rolls on.

To schedule an appointment, call 918-576-9814 or 918-523-5170. At the first appointment we will discuss what you will wear and determine what is going to be the background of the photographs.

The actual photoshoot will be scheduled to avoid nap times or when the subjects are just tired. This is just as true with adults as with children.

Give me a call. Again, 918-576-9814 or 918-523-5170.
