Program JNAME

The purpose of Program JNAME is to create three files which will represent the daily activity in the MOMS System. The purpose of creating these three files is to be able to recreate the status of the MOMS system on any given day. In case of system failure, these files are files may be appended to each other and then to the appropriate master file to rebuild the MOMS system master files. These files are referred to as incremental files and should be saved.

To execute Program Jname, after the >>? prompt type

>>? RUN JNAME

Program Jname responds THE SCI FILE RENAME PROGRAM (JNAME) ENTER: 1. THE NEW PATIENT FILE NAME 2. THE JOURNAL FILE NAME 3. THE CORRECTION FILE NAME

where THE NEW PATIENT FILE NAME contains the new patients entered for that day and is normally PATIENTX.DA. THE JOURNAL FILE NAME contains the daily journal entries and is normally JOURNAL.DA. THE CORRECTION FILE NAME contains all of the patient changes or corrections for that day and is normally PATIENTS.DC.

The three files PYYDDD.DA, JYYDDD.DA, AND CYYDDD.DA may not be defined for the date on which Program Jname is run. P, J and C stand for patient, journal or change/correction, respectively. YYDDD is the Julian date in the system calendar on the day that Program Jname is run.

After Program Jname is run, these three daily files will have been created. PATIENTX.DA will have been copied into PYYDDD.DA. JOURNAL.DA will have been copied into JYYDDD.DA PATIENTS.DC will have been copied into CYYDDD.DA

In case of system failure the MOMS System can be rebuilt using these three files. 1. The JYYDDD.DA files with the appropriate dates can be appended to JOURNAL.DN. 2. The PYYDDD.DA files should be appended to PATIENTS.DA 3. The CYYDDD.DA files should be
